How we have helped our members

The letters below relate to a small proportion of the wide variety of work the FLVA undertakes on behalf of it's members at no extra cost to them regardless of how many times we visit their premises or how many meetings we attend on their behalf.

Letter from a Chartered Surveyor

I specialise solely in licensed property valuation, recruitment, dispute and agency matters. My contact with the FLVA extends back to their beginnings and there is no doubt that the support they afford to their members is simply staggering... at a fraction of the membership cost one would anticipate.

I have worked alongside the FLVA on a number of cases. there is no limit to their knowledge and commitment and their reputation goes before them in paving the way to achieving equitable solutions to the most complicated and time consuming problems.

"I would like to express my thanks on behalf of myself and my husband for the invaluable help and advice we received from the FLVA in taking over a ten year lease.

In this day and age it was refreshing to be treated as two normal people instead of just a number of someone's books!  They are very personable and we have advised fellow landlords to join the organisation based purely in the marvellous job done for us.

Thanks again and our best regards"

"I have been in the licensed trade for six years and recently decided to join the FLVA.  The starter pack I received was full of useful and practical information, especially regarding staff contracts and disciplinary procedures.

I subsequently had a staff problem and was able to deal with it in the correct way thanks to the information and advice I received from the FLVA.

You are kept updated with the ever changing laws and requirements of a licensee.  it is reassuring to now that I am a member of such a helpful organisation and that assistance is just a phone call away."

"I have been a member of the FLVA for many years and just recently have been involved with a very lengthy rent negotiation with my landlord which wasn't progressing and was long overdue.  This concerned me as I wanted to get the situation resolved.

I contacted the Federations office and explained the situation I was in, provided them with the information which they asked for and they contacted the landlord on my behalf.  The negotiatons continued and I was involved with the decisions without having to directly negotiate the review.  I agreed the new rent at a level that I was happy with and I could then start to concentrate again on the day to day running of my pub, much to my relief."

Letter from a Solicitor

I wish to applaud the FLVA for its unceasing work on behalf of its members. I have worked with and for the FLVA over a number of years and have seen first hand the efforts made by the FLVA to protect and enhance its members' interests.

Its members have found a voice in Government through the FLVA which has had influence on legislation. This influence must not be under estimated or under valued.

It has also been very apparent that at the heart of the raison d'etre of the FLVA is the overriding interests of members which the FLVA works tirelessly to protect and enhance. Members are kept up to date on changes in the law which effect their working environment and have the backing of the FLVA when problems occur.
