Welcome to Treasure Chest Breastfeeding Group
Treasure Chest Breastfeeding Group aims to promote, support and encourage breastfeeding in the York area.
The group was established in 2005 by a group of health professionals and local women who had an interest in breastfeeding and in helping empower other women to breastfeed. We cover both the North and South of York.
Breastfeeding Support is available in a range of ways, including workshops, hospital visiting, baby groups, by email and over the phone - click here for more information.
We run training courses for local mothers to train as breastfeeding peer supporters in order to provide practical breastfeeding support and accurate information.
The group is run by a committee, new members, interested in supporting our work, are always welcome!
Treasure Chest breastfeeding groups receive grant of equipment from
MedEquip4Kids.
We have recently received a generous donation of over £600 worth of
equipment to assist our work from the charity MedEquip4Kids. (see photo)
The books, DVDs, bags and positioning dolls will all be used by our
breastfeeding peer supporters either during their training or while helping
mothers at our drop in groups
in York. We are very grateful for the support that MedEquip4Kids has
offered to our group as we are entirely self funded.
