Richard Mark commenced trading in 1962 when Pat and Tony Rowland opened their first shop in Sanderstead. Today it is one of the oldest and respected mens' hire and retail businesses in the South of England.

Today, it is still owned by the Rowland family, with Pat and Tony being joined by son Mark in recent years. Their dedication to the business resulted in the company being awarded the very prestigious 'RETAILER of the YEAR ' Award for the whole of the London Borough of Sutton in 1997.
